Waltham 9ct Gold Cushion Case Watch

A beautifully preserved Waltham manual wind dress watch dating to the 1940s, housed in a solid 9ct gold cushion case with elegant stepped sides and a wonderfully soft vintage profile. The proportions wear especially well on the wrist; although measuring approximately 34mm across, the cushion-shaped case gives the watch far more presence and character than a traditional round case of similar dimensions.

The crisp white dial remains in exceptional condition, featuring classic Arabic numerals, a recessed subsidiary seconds dial, and beautifully heat-blued hands which catch the light wonderfully in person. Details such as the red “12”, oversized onion crown, and flowing cushion case give the watch a distinctly early-century aesthetic that feels both refined and full of personality.

There is a warmth to this piece that only genuinely well-preserved vintage watches seem to carry. The softly aged gold case, untouched dial furniture, and elegant proportions come together to create something incredibly wearable today while still feeling unmistakably period correct.
