Rolex Datejust Silver Linen Dial

A particularly sharp example of the Rolex Datejust reference 16014, featuring the highly desirable silver linen dial and presented with its original Rolex box.

The dial is the standout feature of the watch. Finished in silver with Rolex’s distinctive linen texture, the surface has a subtle woven appearance that catches the light beautifully and gives the watch considerably more character than a standard silver dial. Applied baton hour markers, matching hands and the framed date window at three o’clock keep the layout quintessentially Datejust, with the Cyclops magnifier completing the familiar look.

The 36mm stainless-steel case is in exceptionally crisp condition, retaining strong proportions and well-defined edges throughout. It is paired with the classic white-gold fluted bezel, which remains sharp and provides just enough contrast against the otherwise understated steel construction.

Particularly noteworthy is the condition of the Rolex Jubilee bracelet. The bracelet remains remarkably tight and presents beautifully, with the correct contrast between the brushed outer links and polished centre links still clearly visible. Together with the sharp case, it gives the watch a far fresher appearance than is typically seen on vintage Datejusts of this age.

Reference 16014 belongs to an important generation in the Datejust line, combining the traditional acrylic crystal and vintage proportions of the earlier four-digit references with Rolex’s calibre 3035 automatic movement and quick-set date function. It is one of the most practical vintage Datejusts to wear regularly while retaining the character of the earlier models.

Complete with its original Rolex box, this is a particularly strong example of the reference, combining excellent overall condition with one of the most attractive dial configurations available on the 16014.
