An exceptional example of the Rolex Datejust 1601, preserved to a standard rarely seen on the market today.
This is not just a clean 1601, it is an outlier. Even by dealer standards, the condition is striking.
The case remains incredibly sharp, with strong, well-defined lugs and crisp transitions throughout. The white gold fluted bezel retains deep, pronounced fluting, catching the light with that unmistakable vintage brilliance.
The original silver sunburst dial is flawless, with a beautifully even tone and no visible degradation. It is fitted with the more uncommon alpha (dagger) handset, adding a subtle layer of character and collectability over the typical baton configuration.
The Jubilee bracelet is where this piece separates itself entirely. It is exceptionally tight, presenting with near-NOS characteristics, minimal to no stretch, full structure, and a reassuring weight on the wrist. Finding a vintage Datejust with a bracelet in this condition is increasingly rare.
Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 1570 automatic movement, recently serviced and performing strongly with excellent amplitude and timekeeping.
Presented with a period-correct Rolex box and original hang tag, this is a complete and highly desirable example.
