A charming example of the Must de Cartier Vendôme, presented in the smaller and particularly elegant SM case size.
The Vendôme is one of Cartier’s more distinctive round designs from the Must de Cartier period. Its classical circular case is paired with articulated bar lugs, giving the watch a much more recognisable profile than a conventional dress watch while retaining the refinement associated with vintage Cartier.
The cream dial is quintessentially Cartier, with black Roman numerals, a fine railway minute track and slender blued-steel hands. The must de Cartier signature sits neatly within the centre of the dial, while the blue cabochon-set crown provides the familiar finishing touch.
The case is constructed in gold vermeil over sterling silver, characteristic of the Must de Cartier collection. In the smaller Vendôme size, the proportions are especially delicate and elegant, making this a wonderfully understated vintage Cartier for a smaller wrist.
The watch has been fitted with a fresh burgundy alligator-print leather strap and retains its original Cartier buckle. It is also accompanied by its original Cartier box, making this a particularly attractive and complete example.
A beautifully proportioned and very wearable example of one of the less commonly seen Must de Cartier designs, with all the visual signatures that make vintage Cartier so appealing.
