Marvin 14ct Gold Vintage Chronograph

Circa 1950s

£1800.00

Out of stock

A beautifully preserved vintage Marvin chronograph in solid 14ct gold, dating to the 1950s and powered by a traditional Swiss mechanical column wheel movement. Elegant, highly wearable and increasingly difficult to find in this condition, the watch captures the charm and technical sophistication of mid-century chronograph design perfectly.

The warm silvered dial has aged gracefully over time, developing a rich vintage tone that pairs beautifully with the solid gold case and blued tachymeter scale. The layout is wonderfully balanced, featuring twin subsidiary dials, bold Arabic numerals and elegant feuille hands, all beneath a beautifully domed acrylic crystal that gives the watch exceptional character on the wrist.

Inside sits a fully mechanical Swiss column wheel chronograph movement, widely regarded as the most refined and desirable style of vintage chronograph construction. The chronograph functions operate crisply and correctly, with a smooth pusher feel that reflects the quality of these traditional hand-finished movements.

At 35mm excluding the crown, the case retains classic vintage proportions while still wearing extremely well by modern standards. Combined with the slim profile and clean black leather strap, it remains both elegant and versatile despite its sporting functionality.

A particularly attractive and honest vintage chronograph, offering genuine horological substance alongside timeless design. Pieces like this are becoming increasingly scarce, especially fully serviced examples in solid gold cases with strong original character intact.
