Cartier Tank Louis PM, 1985, 18ct Yellow Gold, Full Set
A truly exceptional example of the Cartier Tank Louis, dating to 1985 and preserved in remarkable condition.
The Tank Louis is perhaps the purest expression of Cartier’s design language: elongated Roman numerals, chemin-de-fer minute track, blued sword hands, sapphire cabochon crown and the unmistakable brancard case profile. Elegant, restrained and instantly recognisable, it remains one of the most important dress watches ever created.
This example is the PM size, crafted in 18ct yellow gold and powered by a quartz movement, making it both refined and effortless to live with. The case retains a beautiful warm gold tone, with crisp lines and a superb overall finish. The dial is exceptionally clean, with sharp black printing and vivid blued hands.
What makes this watch particularly special is its completeness. It is offered as a full set, accompanied by its original Cartier box and papers, and remains fitted to its original Cartier black leather strap. Finding a vintage Tank Louis in this configuration is increasingly difficult; finding one in this condition is rarer still.
A beautifully preserved 1985 Tank Louis PM, elegant, complete, and beyond immaculate.
